When
looking for entertainment for your reception, there are many things to
keep in mind. The kind of band is important. You have specific
needs.
Number
one is interaction with the party itself, that is, announcements and
introductions, coordinating with the director, photographer an guests.
Number
two is styles of music and even particular songs. A group or
performer who can play something for everyone will ensure that all are
entertained.
The
volume level is important because there is a lot of conversation and no
one wants to scream to be heard. But you want dancers to feel
comfortable on the dance floor.
What
do they wear?
Generally,
tuxedos and gowns are in order for performers.
So
when you call for entertainment ask:
1)
Is the date available?
2)
What type of music do you or can you play: Do you have a song list?
3)
How do you handle emceeing and announcing?
4)
Who, locally, can you ask to describe the group and their performance?
5)
What do you wear?
6)
Can you provide a tape or video or at least a picture?
7)
Can part of the group play for the cocktail and or dinner hour before the
dancing begins?
